Mentone Cemetery; Mentone, Indiana

A perfectly blue sky. Fluffy puffy cloud. Rich black soil. Good deep greens in the trees. The grass looking like it could use some rain. And the most dramatic tombstone in my hometown's cemetery, memorializing a Wanda Summerland, who was just fourteen or so when she died some hundred and twelve years ago.

  2. I don't. Perhaps at the Kosciusko County Historical Society in Warsaw they'd have something. I grew up in Mentone but now live in Cape Cod. What brought you to Mentone, or do you live there? Thanks for looking at my blog. I went to your Myspace page but couldn't see where to send message to you on it.

  3. Just arrived at this from some other site on Kosciusko County. My mother and her family lived in Mentone for a while. Nice picture.

  4. My spouse and I read the tombstone today after my sister's funeral. I'm curious about this little girl. Going to check her history.
